Shake it Off! Belly Dance to Prevent Holiday Burn-Out

In the season of gifting and giving, it’s important to give yourself the same generosity you extend to others. Come infuse yourself with nourishing movement that allows you to sparkle! This workshop utilizes key foundation movements found in belly dance traditions that awaken new patterns in the body to access self-soothing and de-stressing techniques, and is especially designed for the holiday season. No previous dance experience necessary!

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn the connection between self-soothing, core activation and rhythm through vibrational shimmies and dance technique

  • Learn to create deeper stillness through inner exploration of gentle wave work

  • Cultivate the joyous expression of belly dance and find reasons to celebrate your inner sparkle!

Notes to Prepare

  • Please arrive ten minutes before class to sign the waiver and change etc.

  • Bring a waterbottle

  • We encourage guests to wear comfortable clothing for movement or clothes that allow them to feel their most sparkliest! Shoes will not be worn

  • Hip scarves and veil props will be provided.

A note about Inclusivity

This workshop is an exploration and celebration of the body. Belly Dance is a community practice that empowers individuals to experience the pleasure of connecting and honouring their sensual being, therefore this space does not use mirrors. It is open to all bodies and gender-expression regardless of dance experiences.
